Would you like to support me and my associated charities? GoFundMe

When I started this journey, I realised that not only would I be using my savings to pay for the trip, but I would not be earning anything for 11 months. My income stream, as a plumber, would stop a few weeks before I leave. Could I find a sponsor to support me? Was there a way to find an income stream, miles from everybody? It all felt a bit daunting and strange to ask people for help to cover some of my costs whilst I was away. After all, it was my call to go in the first place. I wanted to raise some money for charity along the way and couldn’t really see a way forward.

I thought if individuals were making money out of writing blogs, then why can’t I. My old English teacher, God rest his soul, will be turning over in his grave and would be rather surprised that “Robert” would even consider such a thing, let alone trying to publish a paragraph! English was never a strong subject for me, and I’m always getting pulled up by mates for my spelling. You know the sort, taking a cheap shot, trying to be clever, or put you down. Well buckle up, as this is going to be a hell of a ride, in more ways than one.

I’m aiming to raise some much-needed funds for both, HOPE against cancer, a Leicester-based charity and the Donaghadee Lifeboat station, one that both my Mum and Dad have been involved with for many years. So my aim really, is to raise some cash for my blogging efforts and to make it a bit more palatable, I’ll be splitting the proceeds 3 ways. 1/3rd each to the charities to and a 1/3rd to me.

So if you’re feeling generous and would like to support clink on my link and many thanks in anticipation GoFundME
